Yes, yes, tomorrow at 10 am Eli is scheduled to go in for hopefully the last surgery of her life to reinternalize the shunt. We have four days of negative cultures and her white blood cell count is still falling, so we are good to go. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!
Today was a very fun day. Nin and Julia came and we had a tea party on the hospital patio while Eli took the best non-drug-induced nap of her hospital career (three and a half hours!) The effects of the wrath continue: the attending came to discuss the surgery and a resident came to get the signature. (I'm prone to think that the resident coming in to administer the intrathecal vancomycin at 2 am this morning, "accidentally" turning on the light directly above my snoozing head, finally locating the brightest light in the room under which to operate, and noisily opening about 25 packages of medical equipment were also the results of the wrath. Just kidding.)
And now Justin's here! So life is just getting better and better.

Oh Eli is so cute! What a sweet sweet baby even amid all of the trauma. She is so sweet!
Wow, ask and you shall receive! Thanks for the picture of Eli. She is such a sweetie. Now I want a pony and a chocolate milkshake. Just kidding. Sounds like things are on the up and up. Hooray! We love good news!
Thank you so much for the pictures! I was hoping we'd see some. Eli looks darling. I hope the surgery goes well!
Good to hear things are going a bit better. Great pictures, too.
