Lia and I found a cute little family of ducks on campus during a date-night walk to the south of BYU campus.

One of the highlights of early summer was a Suttner family reunion in Montana. The kids loved connecting with their cousins.

A centerpiece of the trip was renting some side-by-sides and riding into the wilderness where Lia's aunt has a rustic cabin. Unfortunately, the roads had been badly washed out, and a large boulder tossed us into a ditch. The extended family rallied, combined talents, pulled us out to safety, and even repaired our flattened tires. It was all pretty amazing to behold. One casualty of the rescue operation was Uncle Tony's shoulder, which was badly injured as we pushed/pulled the vehicle from the ditch.

Riding with Mom and Dad was okay, but the real action was with Uncle Dustin behind the wheel of his powerful Polaris RZR.

 

Julia opening and reading her mission call was one of the sweetest experiences any parent could ever hope for.

Elinor and her ballet friends worked hard to prepare for their (adorable) spring recital.

Gwyn's mom is by far the funnest mom. What a joy when she chaperones a school field trip!

People often think Lia is the sister, rather than the mother, of her three oldest daughters. No wonder. What beautiful ladies!

Just before general conference, we went to an All Italy mission reunion. This is Justin with Luke Hillier, with whom he shared an apartment in Merate during the very first days of his (Justin's) mission.

Lia played an integral role in planning and executing Angela Suttner's baby shower.
