Traveling Musicians

That cute boy had a quiet weekend at home with Elinor, Julia, and Mom while the rest of the family headed south. It felt to me like he spent the time in riotous gluttony, but maybe that’s not quite true. We also watched both Frozen I and Frozen II, ate out and got Julia to call time just a wee bit late, and watched some of RootsTech. The next day we set up Elinor’s toddler bed because with all his eating, Gabriel is quickly outgrowing his bassinet.

Meanwhile, Justin, Elisabeth, Katharine, Abdiel and Gwyndelin were having a high time in St. George. Nin's birthday and her work as the director of the Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival coincided this year, so she invited the girls down to participate. The harp occupied three people's seats, and Timpanogos High School's production of Singin' in the Rain occupied Julia's schedule, which is why everyone didn't go down.

Abdiel and Gwyn reported that their favorite part of the trip was rock climbing at the petroglyphs and riding back in the back of Opa's red truck. They also liked presenting Nin with the birthday presents they picked out: pin wheels from Gwyn, a bug catcher from Abdiel, and a motion-detecting oinking pig from Elinor.

Here was their Superior rated performance of Camille Saint-Saens "The Swan".
The week before boasted highlights of participating in the first-ever Friend-to-Friend event--here are the kids drawing a praying person--and week-day tubing with Daddy for Elisabeth and Katharine. The snow and Tuesday night appointment meant they had the tracks basically to themselves. More importantly, it also meant many dollars off.
