Happy Birthday, Abdiel!

Our man Abdiel turned twelve this week!

He's done a great job of attending the temple monthly since the year began, including this week to the Orem temple with the youth. 

 Abdiel requested one thing only for his birthday: the thrill of the Heatheridge neighborhood boys, the dream of every young male heart, the excitement of wind in one's hair. In short, an electric Scooter. This hope could, however, not be realized because it exceeded allotted birthday budgets by quite a ways. Abdiel consequently mowed our gargantuan, hillside lawn many times in order to contribute funds and make the dream a reality.  

While Lia took all the kids swimming (for free), Justin assembled the coveted item back home, which arrived moments after he returned in the early afternoon from work. 

We'll post a video of Abdiel on his new wheels. It really is a pretty sweet ride. 

We also changed rooms. Elisabeth had been sleeping in the basement anyway, so we took her stuff down there, too; moved Gwyn in with Katharine, Abdiel where Gwyn had been, Elinor where Abdiel had been, and Gabriel where Elinor had been. 

 

All that moving exhausted us, but we finally were all (mostly) happy with the result. Now we just need Baby to arrive!! With as much space as possible between Abdiel's birthday and hers. With baby #8, we're finally planning for the future.
