Our camera's fixed! We didn't want to worry anyone unnecessarily, but our very nice, new camera dropped out of our bag when a nurse was moving our stuff in the hospital when Katharine was born and wouldn't work. But Canon fixed it on warranty and now we're all better. (Many thanks to Anna for letting us borrow her camera and mailing us the pictures, and to Jill for letting us borrow her lens so that we have some record of Katharine's first month!) My grandparents stopped by on their way from Maine back to Buffalo and, like the Greeks, came bearing gifts. Here are Julia and I in our matching Amish aprons:
We thought it was due to the stresses of potty-training, and since she was making all of us--including herself--quite miserable, and had the hang of it down enough to purposely go right after she had to sit on the potty, we have postponed further efforts in this area. This is one of her after-bedtime "attempts".
Katharine started smiling!
Of course Julia couldn't pass up a photo-op.
Wanting to meet the little girl next door, we decided to have a gingerbread house decorating party. Here's our finished product:
Here's the one for my friends who didn't show that we're dropping off today (they have four boys in their family, including a 15 year old, so they got one twice as big as the rest of ours):
Betsy and Rebecca's:
Julia and Rebecca really hit it off:
A bad angle of Gretchen and Carter's. Hers was super cute:

Thank you so much for having me over to make a gingerbread house! I am so sorry I had to leave so early. I love your pictures. Katharine's smile is adorable.
Your kids are so adorable!!
Katherine looks sweet. In regards to Eli's not-so-successful potty training--we had a lot the same experience with Andrew, so we didn't press the issue. And suddenly, about two or three months ago, he decided he was ready. We had one or two accidents the first week, and that was it. So, assuming Eli has those typical Collings traits (i.e. stubbornness, independent mindedness, sheer cussedness--from the Burtons, of course) then she'll probably surprise you in the near future!
That precious yawn and smile are so sweet! Remember to treasure these days...I know you do though!
Yeah for pics! The girls are so cute! Eli looks like Justin, Julia looks like Lia, and Katherine looks like ME!!!! Don't you think?!
Katharine is as pretty as her two princess daughters. Glad your back in the photo business.
