Eli seems to be recovering well. Already the circumference of her head has begun to decrease, and for the first time Lia can see and feel the pulsations of her soft spot (which previously had felt hard and tense because of the excess fluid). Her little body is a little bit swollen and puffy, but that is normal after a surgery like she had yesterday. She has had some trouble eating, but that is likely because with all the fluid going into her system through the IVs, she doesn't feel thirsty, even if she's hungry. She has delighted Lia by smiling and cooing and seeming again like our happy little cherub. Later today, she should be transferred from the PICU to the regular pediatrics wing.

Sweet baby Eli! We are sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having. I am not surprised one bit that the nurses love you. You're a pretty sweet girl. Sam is determined that he needs to mail Julia and Eli some drawings so could you please email us your mailing address? Thanks. gingerbloomfield@gmail.com
We are praying for you guys!
