Lest more of our readers join Caci and Trevor in thinking our late traumas stem from the having of children rather than the purchasing of Huggies diapers, we will share a few cute stories in the hopes that no one do any bodily harm to themselves in their redoubled efforts to "live it up".
Cute story one: As will be narrated in our week-in-review on Sunday, the milestone of this week was Julia and Eli's first nights bunking together. In addition to the initial obstacles of going down, another difficulty was that Julia awoke every time Eli needed to eat. At the 4 a.m. feeding, Julia followed me back to my room, whining and crying all the way. "Julia, go back to bed!" I forcefully whispered, answered only by continued whimpering.
"Julia! I'm in my bed, Eli's in her bed, Daddy's in his bed. Go back to bed! It's the middle of the night!" Which most logical argument Julia considered for a moment and then, convinced, traipsed back to her place of slumber from which she did not move until 9 the next morning.
Cute story two: Yesterday, having said our morning family prayer, Justin and I were taking affectionate leave of each other. Julia, always the domestic affection police, made forceful noises as she inserted her arms between us and started waving them, thus breaking up our embrace. She then stepped in front of me and announced, "I'm lookin' for...a hug!" as she extended both arms and turned up her cute little face expectantly. Needless to say, she found it.

Cute story three: We sometimes neglect to close fast the front door which allows it to swing open with any slight gust of wind. A couple of days ago the approach of the mailman was enough to send it swinging and Julia ran out to greet whomever our visitor might be. "Hi!" she greeted him. "Hey there, Peanut!" he answered as he quickly withdrew. Julia watched as he left, closed the door behind him, then turned to me and said matter-of-factly, "That's Peanut."
